The 39-year-old is 40 points shy of this once-in-a-lifetime achievement and is on track to break the record this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This 2023-24 season, James has averaged 25.6 points per game, so if the legendary player continues playing in the same manner, he should be able to hit 40,000 career points on Saturday\u2019s game against the Denver Nuggets, if he won&#8217;t score 40 against the Wizards tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the 39-year-old hits the 40,000 mark, he will set a seemingly unbreakable record for NBA players to come.
