In 2023, Ohtani signed a 10-year $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Previously Hideki Matsui held the record with 175, but Ohtani surpassed him a few months ago and is now sitting at 196.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"shohei-ohtanis-career-high-marks\">Shohei Ohtani&#8217;s Career High Marks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Already Shohei Ohtani has broken multiple of his own records this season. He set career-high marks in the first 35 games of any season with 52 hits, 14 doubles, and 30 runs. In the same time frame, he also set career-high marks with a .364 batting average, a .426 on-base percentage, and a .685 slugging percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"franchise-record-rbi-streak\">Franchise Record RBI Streak<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In his 79th game with the Dodgers Wednesday night, Shohei Ohtani made a hit to extend his RBI streak to 10 games, a franchise record. Previously Ohtani was tied with Roy Campanella, Augie Galan, and Eddie Brown.
