In Spain’s 2-1 Euro semifinal victory<\/a> over France, 16-year-old FC Barcelona<\/a> forward Lamine Yamal<\/a> stole the show. At the 21-minute mark, he lazered the ball into the net, tying the game 1-1. This goal made Yamal the youngest scorer in men’s Euro history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his impressive performance against France, Yamal earned himself man of the match, also being the youngest player in UEFA history to receive that award. At 16 years old, Yamal already has the same amount of assists at major tournament knockouts as Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a> had in his career (2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is extremely impressive to perform this well at such a young age, especially on a big stage like the Euro. Yamal has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi<\/a> because of his talent on the pitch and because they both started their careers with FC Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messi and Yamal have a deeper history than most know. In 2007, a 20-year-old Lionel Messi cradled Lamine Yamal, who was six months old at the time, during a photo session in the dressing room of the Camp Nou in Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
